How it Works

LET'S TALK ABOUT HOW YOU CAN HIRE A DRUMMER

Email me about your project. Tell me what you’re looking for. What kind of music are you making? What is your timeline like? Is it a single? A demo? An EP? An Album? You and I will communicate about what you’re looking for and you’ll send me some music so I can get a sense of what you’re doing and where you are going musically. Send me as much musical detail with an actual scratch track or demo if you can.

So if you want to know how to hire a drummer, let's address the basic questions. Who are your favorite drummers? What style of drumming are you looking for? Are you looking for programmed drums on your track? We’ll talk about musical references (specific producers or tracks or artists) so I can really understand what you need to help you make your music what you envision.

WE BOTH COMMIT TO YOUR PROJECT

Let’s say we decide we want to work together. We'll agree on a price and the timing for your project and you'll send me a deposit.

YOU SEND ME THE FILES

Using we transfer, or a similar method, you’ll email me your scratch track with a separate click track. Your scratch track should have as much detail as possible. For example, I’ve worked with artists who have given me an acoustic guitar and vocal to work from and I’ve been given fully sequenced tracks and asked to replace the programmed drums. As long as you’ve recorded to a click and you include it as a separate track, we’ll be good to go.

I RECORD MY BEST FIRST PASS AND SEND IT TO YOU

I’ll make a rough mix with my drum track and your scratch and send it to you. You’ll listen to what I’ve done and tell me what you like and don’t like. Many times, my clients love my first pass. If not, I'll record a limited number of additional takes until we get what we want.

I SEND YOU OR YOUR PRODUCER THE PRO TOOLS FILES or WAVs

YOU FINISH YOUR TRACK

That's how you can hire a drummer and produce your song.
